Star Serve Networking

The Home Office and Entertainment Network

Another of Clipsal’s Home Automation products is the Clipsal Starserve Network System.

Unlike Clipsal HomeMinder, Starserve does not come with control panels, switches or keypads. Instead, it consists of telephone and data outlets that let you network computers, printers, telephones, televisions, videos and security details. This eliminates messy cables lying all over the floor and also provides substantial cost savings and convenience.

Starserve can operate as a stand alone system or it can be installed in tandem with HomeMinder, to offer the sort of lifestyle you only ever dreamed about.

If you have a portable computer, you can connect to the Internet, send an e-mail or print a document from the dining room, bedroom, kitchen, in fact from any room in the house.

Just like power circuits, your data and video cables are hidden in the walls, letting you plug in at any point.

A Home Office that works for you.

A computer network is something that we normally associate with a commercial office, not a home. But with more people working from home and the computer becoming such an important tool, it makes sense to have a network built into the structure of your home.

Pay TV is normally only available on a single television in the home. But with Clipsal Starserve, cable TV can be distributed to every set in the home, without having to pay for additional cable connections!

Centralised air-conditioning has been a typical feature in homes for ages. And up until now centralised entertainment systems have only been considered in the homes of the rich and famous. StarServe has made centralised entertainment technology available to everyone.

The average Australian home can have two or even three televisions. Add to that the complications of multiple VCRs, Pay TV boxes, DVDs, and the Internet and it soon becomes unmanageable.StarServe streamlines the system by linking everything in every room together. Even with a basic system you can link a single VCR, Pay TV box and DVD to all of your TVs.

It means you can replace the need for duplicate equipment, complex connections and over wiring with StarServe’s simple in-wall system. You can save money by avoiding the need for duplicate equipment too.The system also allows for antenna or cable signals which can be passed through a commercial grade amplifier to ensure the best picture quality. And with the optional Infra-red System you get even better control. For instance, even if the equipment is in another room, you can control the video or DVD from whatever TV you happen to be sitting at.
