David & Sandy Neindorf

David originates from Robertstown and completed his schooling at Robertstown Primary and Eudunda Area School.

Sandy is originally from the Barossa Valley and did all her schooling there as well. David & Sandy married in 1991, shortly thereafter the first of our 3 children were born and all 3 children have become a very valued part of our lives.

 

Both David & Sandy are active members of the Lutheran Church, along with being actively involved with local sporting clubs starting off as a player David in both football and basketball and Sandy in netball and basketball then moving onto roles as coach, team manager, umpire and committee member of respective clubs. David was apart of the Waikerie Business Development Committee, member of Rotary Club Waikerie, Board Member of Waikerie Club, member of  Waikerie Australia Day committee and Riverland Vintage Car club. Sandy has been part of the Waikerie Primary School Council, Waikerie Out of Hours School Care Committee, Waikerie High School Canteen Committee Chairperson of the Waikerie Arts Community Arts Centre, current  Chairperson Waikerie Lutheran church and involved with the DCLW Waikerie Ramco Grounds Committee and Chairperson of  Warrawee Community Senior Citizens Inc. Board.

David & Sandy are ongoing sponsor's to many of the Community and Sporting Clubs and events locally and regionally.

 

The early working years:

 

David started his Electrical Apprenticeship in 1980 at P.J. Stapleton at Eudunda with a variety of electrical work being a small community town, including appliance work. He continued with his Refrigeration Apprenticeship in 1983 with Phil Dobbs, until the store closed.

 

David then gained employment with W Linke at Kapunda to complete his apprenticeship for a short period. He then gained work with EMCO Wheaton Engineering where he also gained some interstate experience, until moving to Waikerie in 1987 and began work with Trev’s Electrical before it closed.

 

Sandy’s working life has taken several different paths initially 1981 training as a Chef working at the Barossa Valley Pheasant Farm with Maggie Beer and Eudunda Hospital completing an apprenticeship and becoming Head Chef for 3.5 years before moving  to Waikerie.

 

Sandy started at Waikerie Hospital in 1991, while in her services role she was involved with new changes to the Health System including policy and procedure development to meet the new Quality Control Audits for Certification for the services section and also spent a short period in a reception role. 1998 Sandy left Waikerie Hospital and offered Child Care Services from home while taking on further study.

 

In October 1998  to current was successful to gain employment with the Australian and State Electoral Commissions as a Declaration, Pre Poll Officer and Scrutiny Assistant. 

 

To further develop her skills Sandy studied and completed Community Services Cert III with a Disability Focus and gained employment with the Education Department as an Early Childhood Worker focusing on Children with Special Needs.

 

This work took her across the whole Riverland and some of the Murray Mallee while carrying out some specialised work for Programs being used by the Speech Pathology Department at Berri District Office and leading into completing Cert III in Disability for Government Schools. 

 

A semester was served at Waikerie High School as a School Services Officer to help while another staff took leave from this role.
